QUESTIONS

The things people ask me before they book.

GETTING STARTED
What does it cost?
Lab panels start at $107.68. A Lab Second Look is $179. The Root Cause Blueprint is $497. Membership is $199 a month, month to month. Every price is published on the How to Start page, because you should not have to book a call to find out what something costs.
Which states can you treat?
It depends on what you want. Self-serve lab panels run through Fullscript and can be ordered from most US states, because I am not the one seeing you. Anything live with me, meaning a Second Look, a Blueprint, a results walkthrough, membership or the Intensive, requires you to be physically in Indiana, Colorado, Arizona, Washington or Utah at the time of the visit. If you split time between states, tell me and we will work out the scheduling.
Do you take insurance?
No, and I want to be straightforward about why. Insurance pays for fifteen-minute visits about one complaint. The work I do takes an hour and looks at everything at once, which insurance does not have a code for. Visits and labs are HSA and FSA eligible, and Affirm is available for the Blueprint.
Which should I start with?
If you have bloodwork from the past six months, start with the Second Look. There is no reason to pay for testing you already own. If you have not been tested in years, start with the Blueprint, which includes both the testing and the interpretation. If you want to start with testing, order a panel on your own; it comes back with a written plan.
HOW THE CARE WORKS
What is functional medicine, really?
It is asking what your body is responding to, instead of only naming what it is doing. Same labs, same physiology, different question. In practice it means I spend an hour on your history, look at systems together rather than separately, and change food, sleep and stress before I reach for a bottle.
Who is this for?
Mostly people whose labs came back normal while they still felt wrong. Fatigue, stubborn weight, hormone changes, gut trouble, brain fog. You do not need a diagnosis to come, and you do not need to be sick enough to justify it.
What actually happens in the first visit?
I will have already read your intake and your labs, so we do not spend the hour on data entry. We go through what you are experiencing, I explain what I am seeing in your results and why, and we decide together what changes first. You leave with the plan written down.
How does telehealth work for this?
Video visits from wherever you are. Labs are drawn at a facility near you and come back to both of us. Honestly, this kind of care suits telehealth better than most: the value is in the history, the results and the thinking, none of which require you to sit in a waiting room.
How long until I feel better?
Sleep and energy often shift within a few weeks. Hormones and metabolic markers move over months, not days, because that is genuinely how the body works. I would rather tell you that now than sell you a two-week transformation and disappoint you.
Do I have to buy supplements?
No. I recommend what your labs support, and I will tell you which ones matter most if budget is a factor. A plan that only works if you buy twelve bottles is not a plan I would give you.
Do I have to join the membership?
No. The Blueprint is a complete purchase and the written plan is yours whether or not you continue. Membership exists for people who want the plan adjusted as their body responds, and it is only offered after we have met.
Can you replace my primary care doctor?
No, and you should keep them. I work alongside conventional care, not instead of it. If something I find belongs with your physician or a specialist, I will tell you plainly and help you take it to them.
